If you are looking for Macramé Materials in Malaysia, Green Daun craft shop sells them in various sizes. The macramé cords sold range from 1mm to 7mm in thickness and in the traditional cotton cords.
 
These cords are sold in set lengths depending on the size of the macramé cords. Currently, there are plain cotton colours available. Other fancy colours are not cotton, but nylon and Green Daun only has them in black colour.

Update April 2021 - We have completely stopped selling macrame cords at our new age shop. 

Update Jan 2020 - We no longer carry the entire range of Macramé cords at our shop. Now, we only sell 2.5mm, 3.5mm and sometimes 5mm plain cotton cords. Please take note.

To buy macramé materials, you would most likely see them being sold online, but you would need to visit multiple places to get the right size or colour.
 
This has been a major issue with macramé makers in Malaysia as it is not easy to source for them. You can find them on online platforms like Lazada or Shopee, but I am sure you know that the sellers are all from China.
 
That means there is a high chance the item maybe not what it should be, or worst, it will take a few weeks or a month plus for it to arrive. If it arrives, and we know this because quite a number of our walk-in customers have complained about buying from online platforms.
 
If you visit some of the craft shops around Malaysia, you will also find that they do not stock any macramé materials, and if they do, it may be ancient stock or just one size.
 
Because of the recent trend in the last few years, more Malaysians or Southeast Asians are getting into macramé making. The rise in this is that there are tutorials on YouTube that teach you how to make all kids of macramé.
 
Green Daun started making macramé in 2013, but eventually, due to the craft shop opening in 2016, we have had little time to do this hobby. But the good thing is that we stock all kinds of macramé materials in our shop.
 
We cater to both hobby makers or those who make them and sell macramé at craft bazaars or even online. Some of our makers even make them for massive macramé wall decorations for homes or weddings.

Update April 2021 - We have completely stopped selling macrame cords at our new age shop. 

There are two types of macramé ropes available, the twisted type and also the braided type. Braided types are priced slightly higher than twisted cords.  
 
We also have wooden beads and wooden rings for your macramé project. This is suitable for wall decorations or even pot hangers. Some of our customers even use them for macramé jewellery like statement necklaces.
 
For coloured cords, they are normally nylon, and we only carry black coloured macramé cords in 7mm size. We do not have other colours.

Where is Green Daun Shop?
 
Our shop is located in Damansara Perdana in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Here are detailed instructions on how to go to Green Daun, if you are driving or taking public transport or a taxi.
 
We are located at the commercial section of the condominium here; hence it is a proper shop lot at the Perdana Exclusive Condominium.
 
We are sorry that we do not do this for wholesale, as we only cater to hobby makers or those doing small online businesses or craft bazaars. We can get large quantities, but not in wholesale amounts.
 
For us, wholesale means 100 kilograms of macramé cords in just one size. Most people only require a couple of kilograms of cords for their projects. So, we just have them in bundles of 20 meters, 60 meters and 90 meters long.
